Born and bred in South Los Angeles, Nina began her professional entertainment career at 4 years old as a young, gifted actress and print model who trained and performed at the acclaimed Inner City Cultural Center, Chip Fields Repertory Company, modeled in catalogues, and appeared on several network TV shows. At 19, Nina married her high school sweetheart, son of the late Motown singer, Mary Wells and nephew to Rock & Roll Hall of Famer musical legend, Bobby Womack. She graduated Cum Laude from Los Angeles City College with a degree in Theater and furthered her studies in the arts, public relations & Black history at Cal State Northridge.
The multimedia pro directs and produces stage plays, film, music videos, documentaries, commercials and events. Ms. Womack has worked on numerous productions and for film companies including BET subsidiary Directors Circle FilmWorks, Lacy Street Studios, and Warning Films. She’s a successful grant writer and fundraiser in the non-profit sector with a background in advertising at Team One, a division of the Publicis Group whose clients included American Express, Lexus and many more.
Since 1998, Nina has been a key event producer for large cultural events such as; the African Marketplace & Cultural Faire, the MLK Kingdom Day Freedom Festival, the Malcolm X Festival, the Leimert Park Book Fair, the Long Beach Jazz Festival, to name a few. Annually, she produces her own wellness fairs such as; the Healthy Earth Fest, Each Mind Matters in Leimert and Memorial Day Mindfulness Fest. Nina launched an alternative wellness brand called, Let’s Be Whole in 2015. The organization provides a weekly organic, Mobile food pantry, alternative health & environmental education workshops, agricultural training & naturopathic practitioner referrals for the underserved. Queen Womack is a four time grant awardee from the California Mental Health Services Authority (CalMHSA) to organize health fairs and workshops.
In 2019, Ms. Womack became a civil servant as Board Member of the North Area Neighborhood Development Council (NANDC) where she interacts with L.A.’s elected officials, developers and stakeholders to improve L.A.’s communities and is on the committee for the Los Angeles Good Food Policy Council to ensure that everyone has access to healthy food. Nina is the California Chairwoman of the National Women in Agriculture Association (NWIAA) which has several thousand women farmers. Her mission is to eradicate poverty, reduce health disparities and promote food sovereinty.
